30 minutes on whitefish?

I normally enjoy the show James but 30 minutes on whitefish was beyond boring. You may say, “well you watched the show”. That would be correct but I won’t hesitate to miss it in the future. I remember a promise to fish for something with teeth after the basin crappie episode. What the he!! happened?

It’s called feedback. I expect the pros to be able to ice some mid-winter walleyes when most of us struggle. Seeking out a local and fishing a fishery nobody cares about is taking the easy way out.

I wish every episode was catered exactly to how I fish, where I fish, and what I fish for, but that ain’t gonna happen. Every now and than an episode may center around a species you’ll never target in a state you may never travel too. That might make it less helpful as far as gaining useful information but it can still be very entertaining. I think this is a straight up rude and unnecessary post.

I think they are pros to successfully target a different species when the walleye bite is slow everywhere

I bought this nice lady a steak dinner and a few long island ice teas.
We headed back to my place for a little spin the bottle and a night cap.
Sorry, I forgot the video camera DJ.

Don’t you think if they did nothing but walleye shows that would get a little boring also?

Wow! For all the time and effort James and crew put in on the ice and editing the video for weekly production, I would think criticism would be slightly less hostile. Do yourself a favor and read your critical posts nice and slow before uploading them so you don’t sound rude and condescending.

Crappie, crappie, whitefish. Three shows in a row without any teeth. I hope they fish sunnies and perch next week.
Anyone gong to take advantage of the whitefish tips on this weeks show?

If all goes well, we will be in Green Bay whitefishing either this weekend or the next. So, yes to answer your question, I do anticipate being able to use the tips highlighted in the video.

Did the show apply to what I do?…no. Am I upset about this? NO. If you don’t like it don’t watch. Do you urine and moan to the other fishing shows on air that don’t cater to you as well or were filmed a year in advance? Nicely done show and I’m sure it was helpful to those who fish for them or may consider doing so. Hopefully you can shotgun a few beers and take a couple shots before the super bowl so you can enjoy the game.

I hate the walleye episodes. They do nothing for me since I can’t ice fish walleye around here. If it were up to me, James would be fishing crappie and bluegill every trip. But guess what? its not. They do a good job of spreading the show out to many different species which appeals to the masses.

I’m probably not the only one here who thinks the rig with the spoon at the bottom and shrimpo on top can apply to more than just green bay whitefish. I myself would like to try it for crappies on the st croix.

He all but promised to fish for a species with teeth and did no such thing. If you appreciate people misleading you I am sure you loved the episode. Me not so much.

Instead of complaining that they “mislead” you, maybe you should either a) go try to find fish on your own, or b) go back through the video archives and watch a show that pertains to your interests. I’m sure there is plenty of information in those other shows that can help you on the ice.

I did a quick rundown of the videos from Season 7 to see what the breakdown is of species targeted. Here are the results (minus episode 2 which I couldn’t locate:
    Walleye 4.5 Episodes = 45%
    Bluegills/Crappies 3.5 Episodes = 35%
    Perch 1 Episode = 10%
    Whitefish 1 Episode = 10%

Seems to me that James and crew are doing a great job of presenting many different species to us viewers. Keep up the great work guys!

i don’t remember the promise that this weeks show was going to include teeth. I do know that he said when the season started he was going to try to show current bites. The whitefish footage was next in line so thats what he showed. If this show isn’t good enough for you I’m sure you can find Al Lindner fishing for walleye on a lake in Canada that he won’t name. Of course it’ll be summer fishing from 3 years ago. Or maybe you’d rather watch Bill Dance fish a private pond somewhere in the south? IDO is the best fishing show for people in the upper midwest by far.

Actually James “promise” of teeth, was that he posted last week on the re-run crappie episode and mentioned that actually they were on there way to Ontario to try for some giant pike… that equated to some, a “promise” for a toothy show this weekend… somehow ???

A fish is a fish teeth or not. Whitefish are a blast and a change in species is good vs same old.

He doesn’t have to watch it. Just turn the channel if it isn’t what you like!!! Pretty easy
