I am thinking about buying the contour elite programs for Mn and Rain/LOW. For those that have used the software what is your feedback? For those that are on the fense, what is stopping you from buying?

I like it a lot. The depth marking in regular view is not the greatest but its not that big of a deal.

What is really nice is the 3D version really gives you a better feel of the contour of the bottom. For an example, When looking at a basic contours the closer the lines the sharper the break , Right? Well say your looking at that break and 30 ft over there is another break creating a shelf. Looking at the basic contour you know there is a shelf there but really does not register. You see it in 3D it just clicks in your head that you have different depths close to each other you can fish. Hard to explain but it is great tool that gives a good visual.

It is a good tool that can complement the map you have on your GPS/Chartplotter/sonar as you can plan on the pc and transfer the waypoints the GPS/Chartplotter/sonar.

Love it! I have found new areas to try for both walleyes and crappies that I would have never even thought to try out. All in all, this was one heck of a Christmas present

Go for it! you wont regret it unless you spend too much time at the desk playing around instead of on the water.

so you pay 149.99 for something and can only install it twice? I go through laptops like crazy, and reload software everytime.. so at that rate, I would be SOL within a year.

You can only install it on 2 at the same time. If you buy a new computer you can get a new reg. key and install it on the new computer. Just can’t run it on more than 2 at the same time. One desk and one lap top. You can’t run it on a Mac either as I just found out after I switched from Windows. Trying to decide if I should just buy a cheap windows lap top or just sell the program. I really like it.

That is what I did. Something to bring up to the cabin or camping is all I need. Dont have to worry to much about breaking it or getting it wet. Also its great for storing photos from the days outing and reminiscing around the table with a refreshment in hand at night and planning for the next day.. We sometimes forget about the planning the morning after.
