Hi there. I am new to this. I have been fishing on Winnebago a lot. Just wondering if anyone has any good spots to hit. I just bought a new HT gas Auger and would love to drill some holes around the lake. I have not trusted the lake too much with all the wind and poor ice conditions, but was wondering if anyone has any tips. I am rearing to use the new auger. I have hand cranked too many holes in the past and want to use it more this winter.

    Welcome to Ido!

I know little about ‘bago, but didn’t the wind just open up 100’ of water along the shore line a week ago?

    Welcome to IDO!
We were going to hit areas near 3rd reef on the southern end. Plans canceled, a lot of open water still in that area plus a number of open cracks.
A key to fishing Bago is staying mobile. If you have a good lake map, identify the reefs and and keep moving. I found the crowds are usually a few days behind the fish. (guys chasing reports) If you’re looking to give your auger a work out, Bago is the place. Ice conditions are are concerning because of the breakup and big blow. I’m hearing a lot of 13″ of ice and OPEN SPOTS. Access on the west side is most difficult and a lot of guys are not posting any drive on info because of the poor ice conditions.
Have confidence in hole hopping around the reefs and keep looking. When 3 of us hit bago together, its not uncommon to drill 100+ holes searching.
