I will catch a musky on the fly next summer….

Harriet and Calhoun are going to get “pounded” by a 12 weight fly rod and strip, strip, strip…..

Let me know if you need a net man. I work less than 5 miles from Calhoun…

What are you using on those flies? My latest creations are bucktail, saddle hackle, and flashabou. Yours look a lot better.

I think we need to schedule a few trips next summer!

Fish in front of the culverts on Calhoun right after a rain.

Here’s what I’ve been up to lately. The flies are big as far as flies go, I don’t know if Muskies are even going to notice them.

The rod is a 5 weight Switch Rod I just built. It’s 10 foot 8 inches long so there were a lot of guides which meant a lot of wrapping.

I can’t wait to get some of this stuff wet!

Looks like some real masters at work on some of those fly/streamer patterns!

I’ve never been able to get into a Musky but landed a bunch of Northerns. Largest was 8#, a 32 incher. Took a huge Red-n-White Dalberg diver…A Musky ‘so’ has to be a big rush. Those flies look great. Good Luck!

    Nice

    Rootski –

I am coming out of the “kid funk” and getting ready to get serious again. My baby is 4 and the twins are now 2. Daddy will be able to get out on the water again!!!!

My rods are older, my bones are older, but I am way more interested in “getting out there”.

We will connect next spring summer – my lakes or yours. I fish alone – alot so I always have an “empty seat”

    Tim –

I work “on calhoun” when I am in town.

Come on out but don’t give me [censored] for answering the cell phone – constantly – when we are fishing. I am out there alot during work hours. Miss a few due to calls but you can keep on chucking and winding….
