The two bass techniques I would like to get involved in this summer are flippn and punchn. It appears that a specific rod is needed. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

I like the Rig/Flippin rod from Denali. They are great quality and the price is very reasonable.

I like a 7’2 MH for flippin. But for punching you are going to want a 7’6 H or XH for sure. Punching involves 1-2oz weights and big baits.

Look into powell rods. They make some great stuff, have lifetime warrenties. I have always been a shimano and American rodsmith rods guy myself but about 2 years ago I started slowlhy replacing my rods with Powells.

If you can find them the American Rodsmith H3 Titanium Denny Brauer series is incredible. They don’t make them anymore but if you can find one grab it. The “perfect flipping stick” is their flipping rod and the “big nasty” is the punching rod
