Don’t think so. Ball was in the air before the buzzer sounded. Of course the foul called on Bruiser with 1.8 seconds left was just as bad a call.

yep, ball was still in his hand… As a big gopher fan though I give wisconsin credit, they hit the gophers in the mouth with physical play and this is the gophers downfall, they play soft.. Tubby has to put a spark under these boys arses if they want to make a run..

Didnt see that play but I do know there was no foul on the last three lofted up by the gophers in the first half. He shot three and got a few bonus points there

I fully agree that neither team deserved to win this game.
As for the last second shot, the horn had not sounded by the time the ball left his hand.
The last second foul called on Brueseswitz, should have been an offensive foul on Mbakwe.
But thats how it goes with Big Ten refs.

One things for sure, this game could have been won numerous times by either team.

    NCAA rules

Art. 9. Sound the shot-clock horn at the expiration of the shot-clock period. This shot-clock horn shall not stop play unless recognized by an official’s whistle. When the shot clock indicates zeros but the shot-clock horn has not sounded, the shot-clock time has not expired.

Looks out of his hands to me. I guess you see it how you want to. Gophs had a chance to tie and didn’t. You would think the play would have been reviewed when they were determining the time left on the clock after the shot.

From what im reading on the big ten forums, “neutral” viewers, the refs missed one and the rule is flawed.
But either way ugly game by 2 big ten teams, if it would have went the other way I still wouldnt call it a good win by no means

I figure if you can’t score more than 44 points against a team that you are better than, you don’t deserve to win. The offense for the Gophs has disappeared.

You would think the best offensive rebounding team in the nation could score under the basket. mbackwe and williams need to be part of the offense (around the hoop).. They run that offense where mbackwe is setting picks out be the 3-point line 90% of the time

There is always next year Gopher fans. If the Badgers start hitting more of their shots and free throwns they are going to be a tough out. The Gophers better start knocking off some of their ranked opponents or they will find themselves in the NIT.

    OVER-RATED….. OVER-RATED…..OVER-RATED….

Re-match at the barn in a couple weeks. 10-1 at home, Id venture a guess that that game ends up alot different. They had 1 loss to Duke up till this little 4 game skid with 3 of them being on the road.

No arguement that home games in Big Ten play are more winnable than away games. I see no leadership on the Gophers team. Until they stop playing like a bunch of individuals instead of a team, they are not who they could be. That said, I enjoyed the game very much and am looking forward to the next one.
