Is there anyone on IDO in the business?
This is the second morning in a row my furnace stopped working and required a power cycle to kick back on. I need to schedule repair.

There is a part called a flame sensor. The flame sensor will be in contact with the flame in one of the burners. Remove it and clean it with a dollar bill( use the dollar bill like it was a piece of sand paper). This is a common problem. Sometimes needed every couple years.
If the burners fire up and go out quickly, this will be the problem most likely.

Thanks. I cleaned the flame sensor and the ignitor. We’ll see how it goes.

Ignitors are not meant to last in my experience, that is usually the first culprit to check when the furnace does not want to turn on in the winter. ( 3 times for me )

I worked with a very good heating / ac company in Woodbury a couple years ago if you cannot find anyone on IDO.

I actually broke the ignitor cleaning it 2-3 years back then replaced it myself so I know its not very old.

I’ll wait and see it the problem goes away. If not I will need a pro to check it. Thanks everyone.

We heat our house 100% with wood. Heats you up twice. Once when you gather it and again when you burn it. The mess of ashes and dirt is all outside. We run a Central Burner Woodstove. You want to know how bad the winter is gonna be??? Look at how much wood is stockpiled.

Don’t use sandpaper, try scotch brite, and after cleaning it once or twice, replace it.
