I am fairly new to the sport of Bass fishing, and an absolute newbie to river bassin. Does anyone have any places that they would be willing to share with me, that may help get the confidence up. Smallies, or Largemouth, doesn’t matter. I live on the back channel of pool 4 kind of by Mrsippi’s. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Welcome to the site. There is a few areas around you that will produce both largemouth and smallmouth during the summer months. The closing dam right above Mr. Sippi’s is one of them. The area from Everts Resort down to the rock point that is out of the water right now is another good bet. Most all of the rip rap in the dam area will get you some action as well. All these areas will produce for you all summer long and they are shore accesable, except for the dam area.I know Steve at Everts got a decent largemouth of his dock the other day casting a lipless crankbait………. at least he said he did.

Update. I went from shore to the Wing damn by Mr. Sippi’s. Ended up catching about a dozen bass, with only one being non legal size. On the 3rd cast however, I hooked into what turned out to be a very nice 7lb largemouth. On the Next 10 of so casts, I brought in 3 more of these same size hogs. Thanks again for the info, That was a blast . I will post some pictures as soon as I can.

Good to hear I pointed you in the right direction. Care to share what the hot bait was that was being used?

Certainly. All were caught on one spinnerbait. Yellow, Orange and Brown/copper colored. I couldn’t believe it.
