Last year I broke my 7’6″ med avid. Back when I was guiding we got rods at a discount so it says ” custom built for guide” thus no warranty. Anyone know why they discontined this model? The 7’6″ ml is to light for rigging mille lacs and the croix. I have a 8ft med avid but that is almost to much for all day fishing. What are my options? I can’t afford jumping the the elite series.

You should call up st. croix and tell them what you just posted.. see what they suggest for a replacement. They know their rods better than anyone!

Not apposed to switching brands either. Need to be 7’6″ and have the ability to hold 3/4 – 1 oz sinkers.

Personally I don’t think the Avid 7’6″ ml is to light for Mille Lacs rigging! I have built several that are being used up there! If you must have a 7’6″ M action, you’ll have to move up to the #V series.

Shimano has some options. The Compre CPSW76MC and Crucials CRS76MA & CRSX76MA are all M 7’6″ rods covering a range of actions, They have some 7’2″ Medium spinning rods too.
