This past summer I was lucky enough to catch some bigger pike, I’m wondering what you guys think of the “new” fish handlers do any of them work as good as they say in the catalogs? Don’t care about a scale or tape. Heavy leather gloves and a long needle nose is what I have used, worry about all those hooks

spend the money on a knipex hook cutter they will cut any hook like a twig. also when you go to remove hooks from a big fish in the net even if it looks easy to get out grab your hook cutter and keep it handy. one good thrash of a fish and you can have a hook burried in your hand, fish, net, and floor and your cutter is useless in a storage locker!

kroger is sooo right!!! Since I have had the knipex in the boat, it gets used for other species beside muskies, including SMB. The most important organism it has worked on though is my human friends!!! Same thing for the musky hook sharpener. Amazing when that favorite walleye jig needs a little sharpening!!!

None of my Big Pike baits have barbs courtesy of Canada waters… remove the barbs and they come off nice with a jaw spreader if needed and a needle nose If you must, leave 1 barb on
