A dream come truefinmanPosts: 277January 15, 2013 at 11:03 pm #1131142The guy holding that rod in the link picture sure has an interesting grip!!! A new technique perhaps
January 15, 2013 at 11:16 pm #1131147Might be a little slow at Gander Mountain after Cabela’s opening.
January 15, 2013 at 11:48 pm #1131156EXACTLY what I was thinking, Gander will be out of Woodbury within 2 years of Cabelas opening is my bet!

Thank God!
January 16, 2013 at 12:48 am #1131179Where in tamarack village will they go ?
I must admit I am pretty excited about this. When sportsmens warehouse left was one sad day.
January 16, 2013 at 12:58 am #1131185Yes, this will be great for everyone when the Worlds Foremost Outfitter, runs all the competition out of Woodbury… Careful what you wish for
January 16, 2013 at 1:02 am #1131188nice place to shop but fleet farm’s prices are almost always better..less selection
tweakPosts: 128January 16, 2013 at 1:09 am #1131196Sweet!
Good bye Gander. How many tries did you get anyway! Move over. Game over.

My guess is behind Home Depot/Dick’s? There is quite a bit of space behind there. Or even across the road at that building off 94, that has been vacant for quite a while now…?
Jake_APosts: 569January 16, 2013 at 1:49 am #1131215It will go right where the old Sportsmans Warehouse was-which in my opinion blew gander AND cabelas out of the water but gander sucks… bring on cabelas!
FryDog62Posts: 3696January 16, 2013 at 1:50 am #1131218We need a BassPro in the metro area now more than ever to keep the competition in check…

I have a Cabelas credit card that I use exclusively… I just don’t think it is wise to limit oneself to 1 place to do business… much like you will not see my (or my wife) in a Walmart Competition is good, monopolies are not I am almost SURE I spend more at Cabelas than the average guy
January 16, 2013 at 2:48 am #1131250There is no other competition in Woodbury
Gander really only sells clothes for housewives that want pink camo and fleet farm doesn’t necessarily have the best selection of quality items, IMHO
January 16, 2013 at 10:05 am #1131288It appears GM is undergoing a remodel. I stopped in yesterday. I think I would be happier if I heard the Sportmans Warehouse was opening back up again
January 16, 2013 at 11:11 am #1105199Reported this morning that it will be located in Tamarack Village.
Ground breaking fall of 2013 and opening fall of 2014.
Said 85,000+ sq foot facitlity and would employ up to 185.
Wonderful news!!!January 16, 2013 at 12:02 pm #1131295Quote:

I can’t see them buying the State Farm building, tearing it down, and building new, but I suppose anything is possible.
As far as behind Home Depot, there is some land there, but I thought there was a Globe school there also ? I guess I wlll to check on my way home from the chiropractor today…

You guys must have goofy GM stores around you…. IMHO Cabelas has WAY MORE Womens clothing to Outdoors Stuff ratio than the St Cloud Gander (my wife even likes going to Cabelas… what does that tell you)

Really?! I’m stopping there tonight!!
January 16, 2013 at 1:30 pm #1131323Cabelas in my town!? I cant decide if its a dream come true or road to personal bankruptcy.
January 16, 2013 at 1:55 pm #1131337The paper indicated the store would be a ‘New Generation’ store (85,000 square ft), smaller than the 250,000 sq ft Mega Stores in Tx and Pn. Anyone know how that compares to the Gander Mt in Woodbury or the Cabelas in Owatonna? I think competition will be a good thing.
January 16, 2013 at 1:59 pm #1131342Wonder why they don’t move into the Sportsmans Warehouse site and open by May. Makes no sense to leave that space ampty. Prime location.

I have to say lack of parking might be a concern, otherwise that would be nice, only 7 blocks from my house…. or maybe not
January 16, 2013 at 9:00 pm #1131556At 85,000 square feet it’s designed to create a foothold in the East Metro. To get the Mega Store feeling you will need to go to Rogers or Owatonna.
This just gives Bass Pro & Scheels another hurdle should they decide to test the metro market.
January 16, 2013 at 9:09 pm #1131559At this point it could be a drive thru Cabelas and I would still be hooked..
