I’m a big listener of talk radio. For sports I do Mike & Mike on ESPN and also listen to KSTP 1500. How much validity do you put into the “tweets” and “e-mails” that they read on air?

I don’t tweet, I have never sent a e-mail to a radio station. Do people actually think these guys are really getting these tweets and e-mails? Isn’t it just another way for the hosts to get their opinion out in front of people?

Fact is (and maybe it’s my age) I don’t know a single person who has ever sent a tweet.

I’ve tweeted and that should answer your question as well.

I don’t put much validity into the journalists. If I don’t trust journalists, I darn sure don’t think tweets have any validity.

I believe they are real. I follow Dan Barreiro from KFan and he seems to interact with people quite well and is very active. I also have tweeted back and forth with Jerry Zgoda (Timberwolves beat writer), so yeah, I think it is really them and I believe there is a lot of interaction.

In todays social media, I would say “tweets” have just as much validity as anything. Most often the reporter is getting the news 1st hand or from a reliable source and passes it along before it breaks on the 10:00 news or in the news paper like it did in the past.
With the reporters name and reputation on the line they are not going to pass along junk in fear of ruining their name.

This is an Oxymoron. It does not exist. Jpournalism is only believable if it runs with an individual’s beliefs. If taking peoples opinions and using it as news ranks as facts, we are in a whole world of hurt.

Sadly, Journalism has gone the way of the covered wagon.

Brian, you’ve Tweeted like 2 times. You have to be more like me. Tweet as if someone actually gives a poop.
