Cancun

I have found a great guide and fun place to fish if you are in Cancun.

Was able to take the father-in-law and son (3 yrs old) out for some fun in the back bays of Cancun.

Fishing or baby tarpon, jacks, snapper and barracuda. Nice maverick flats boat and guide was great with the push pole and sight fishing.

The guide was good enough to understand that we may be out for 45 mins or 6 hours. We made it 5 hours.

He was great – took the time to cast net some live bait for the little guy and he had his rod bent all morning as dad and father in-law skipped weightless flukes and jigs under the mangroves for baby tarpon.

Guide was very good. He couldn’t believe a 3 year old could fish….

Leaving fri for Cancun. Wasn’t planning on fishing this time but I guess all it took was your report to spark my interest. Would probably have to go solo, was the price reasonable? Where did you book the guide out of?

That’s the place I need to move and get out of this cold non sense!

I wish I had know about this place when we were there just before christmas. We went deep sea fishing and 5 of us only caught 1 barracuda in 6 Hr’s of fishing. Skipping flukes would have been fine with me. How large did any of those baby Tarpon get?

Thank you for the heads up. My wife and I leave Saturday for Cancun. If anyone else has a recommendation for a good guide out of Cancun or Playa, I would appreciate it.

wheels2, maybe we could book a guide together. I know my wife has no interest in fishing, but she said I can go a couple of days.
