I got it this fall and still suffer from it. I believe that using braided line helped in the cause. Even with the bend of your rod, the no stretch of the line puts more stress on your forearm and elbow.

You would think the muskie guys would have it all the time from chucking those big baits around.

    Mike,
From what you describe it sounds a lot like Lateral..
    Epicondylitis
Trust me.. I know how painful it can be.
What happens is the tendon where it attaches to the elbow get microscopic tears in from using too much force in it a repetitive motion…These tears continue to as this repetitive motion continues and builds up scar tissue as the tendon tries to heal and is damaged again over and over.
After time this scar tissue gets bad enough to irritate the passages that the tendon goes thru, causing pain and inflammation, which causes even more pain.
1 reason the massage helped so much is that hard massage of the tendon will break down this scar tissue…but it’s not a permanent cure…:(
    All is not lost…
1st off,go down to Walgreens or such and buy a elbow brace…What this does is provides some relief to where the tendon is attaches to the elbow.
    2. Try to minimize using the same motion over and over…maybe even try a different method or even use your other arm for a month or so..Time is a great healer.
    3. After your healed up,learn some stretch’s for that specific tendon and do them before each day before fishing.

While this can be a minor thing at first,in can get expensive if let go.
If you have any questions you can PM me bud.

    Good luck
