The Deer are working my bird feeder over pretty good. Maybe I should just start feeding them. In 18 years they have never wondered so close to the house before. Could it be that they are hungry? Is this a tough season for the Deer?

Is there a downside to pouring some corn out for them? Is it legal for me to feed them?

Cwd is spread by saliva so of a lot of deer go and eat out of the same place and their risk of getting a disease goes way up. I live in southern wi where cwd is present and the dnr really changed up the hunting season for the worse in my opinion. So if I was you I wouldn’t but hey, it’s a free country so you can do what ever you want haha

I find it very entertaining, I put out 1 ice cream pail of corn each evening, believe me you could dump a truck load and they would eat it all, expensive. Same deer I feed could hit me in my truck and kill me, but like I said entertaining and interesting to watch there habits.

Some cities have laws against feeding deer.

Are you drawing them closer to a roadway? You make it a easy meal for them, this winter has been really easy on them.

You’ve seen some of the downside, but the upside is corn feen venison.

Just for the minimal chance of spread CWD, i would avoid it. Hunting in a CWD zone blows
