I bleed purple but Ponder is not the answer for the Vikings; albeit he had a great clutch game yesterday to help put the Vikes in the playoffs; but he is too inconsistent you never know what you are going to get out of him. Rodgers had a great game yesterday and so did AD, but if our secondary doesn’t figure some things out quick Rodgers throws for 500 yrds next week and AD will run for 200 again, but Vikes will lose bad if they can’t figure out how to stop Rodgers the guy is a passing machine he rarely misses. As much as I would love to see the Vikes knock the Pack out of the playoffs our only hope is their is a 30 mph cross wind and both teams have to rely on the run and even then with Rodgers short passing game its going to be tough. Packers receivers get so many extras YAC and Vikes secondary can’t stop them.

I am trying to be optimistisc here but yesterday’s game should have been an eye opener for the secondary that they need to figure some things out and quick especially with Winfield questionable for next weeks game.

Ponder is young… he will be fine. The lack of WR’s really is not helping his cause (think Moss making Culepper look good ) & trying to compete at the NFL level. Also, our terrible secondary, is really showing up in the lack of sacks for Jared… I hope they get 2 decent wide outs and get Winfield healthy and 1 more DB and they should be fine next year (I don’t count them out next week & will root for them, but I don’t like their chances… I am a realist)

Good analysis Mike. As a Packer fan I agree with you. AP will get his yards. ARog will get his yards. Just like this game it will be turnovers that determine the game. If there are no turnovers I think not having to do the silent count and Ponder’s introduction to true cold weather conditions give the Packers the edge. If the game is as entertaining as this last game it will be a wild ride for all fans…which is really all I want as a fan…after all it is only a football game.

I honestly dont know about Ponder. Culpepper looked like a God with Moss, Carter, Reed and Smith around him. When you have 2 guys running wide open or a beast who can win jump balls, you are a much better QB.

Ponder has his moments, he seems to understand the game and I like his mobility. He seems to be inaccurate deep, but he always has to thread the needle because the WRs dont get any separation for him.

Remember, Brad Johnson, Trent Difler and Aaron Rodgers have rings, so you dont need a great QB to win it all.

Do you morons understand why he was mad or didn’t you watch he game? He was mad at McCarty for throwing the challenge flag on a turnover/scoring play. Stupid rule that will be changed. You guys should watch the game a little closer next time.

I know exactly when it was.. he knew they “should” have had a 15 yard penalty, no questions asked, Vikings ball on the 35 with the 15 yd penalty, just like the LIONS on turkey day… instead they got 7 points out of the deal The rule change you talk about, hasn’t happened, but the ref thought he would change it for the packers last night

I guess you missed the part where the ref explained things. I said the rule will be changed. Vikings barely win at home and everyone is ready to crown them champs. I guess when you have never won a championship getting into he play-offs is a big deal.

The ref explained what ? There is no rule about “review already initiated”…. the play was challenged, it couldn’t be… as a result of that, the rule is “no review, play stands as called, with 15 yard penalty.” Touchback, Vikings ball on the 20, with a 15 yard penalty tacked on. Simple, unless your the packers and have on the gold colored glasses. I know you said they are talking about “changing the rule” they didn;t, but yet they did last night… what possible argument could you have for that ??? Other than it was called wrong last night and maybe the game wasn’t as close as it ended The packers won 1 more game than the lowly Vikings & Bears, do you really think they are the bomb ???

This Saturday can’t come soon enough Viking chest thumpers. Between now and then I think I’ll spend my down time elsewhere rather than read and reply to this silly gibberish and senseless banter. Your team won it’s first big game in a couple years, welcome back to the big time you certainly weren’t missed while you were gone. Rather than continue to stoop to the level of kindergartners throwing stones at each other I’ll check out from the main page BS and keep my profile related to fishing at least there is some intelect in the conversation….

Nothing more fun than tweaking Packer fans who reuse the same old lines.

Too bad you won’t be back here to read this. I would like to talk to you about a little psychological defense mechanism called projection.

Wait, wait, wait…does this mean you don’t really think the packers will win by 400+points? I knew it…

hahahahahaha, this sentence says it all about the irrational viking fans we have on this site. Just a bunch of idiots that know nothing about football, but acting like they should be either the head coach, the general manager, the head referee, or the commissioner. Just a joke, lets keep this site to strictly fishing.
