I got one for X-mas. and I am not sure exactly what the advatage of using this device is.
It seems as though it is a large version of the I-phone whcich I already have.
So any sugestions, on how you use this device, options of use, or helpfull hints would be appreciated.

    Thanks

My iPad basically replaced my laptop. I also have an iPhone but it’s the iPhone4 so my iPad is so much faster and the screen quality is better. I have a documents program so I can open excel spreadsheets and other MS Office documents. I use the Xfinity app to watch movies and on demand shows. I wouldn’t trade my iPad, I love it.

Can’t figure out what the advantages of a bigger screen would be?

Also, you cannot make phone calls with it.

No one wants to see Jeff’s face.

Brian told me to say that.

It is a toy of luxury. Not at all a neccessity. I have an I-Pad 2 that I use around the house when I want to listen to music, surf the web, watch movies (my toddler son to).

I have had it for about a year now and I have yet to find a need (especially functional need) for an I-Pad.

Facetime has been the biggest functional thing we use it for.

My wife got one for me for Xmas, thanks dear!! It is a toy and it will replace my laptop eventually. Laptop is about 8 years old, running XP, but it still functions fine. The only thing I really use the laptop for other than Internet is taxes, which I may still do, depending on what kind of tax apps are available.

Last night I transferred all my music and pictures from the PC to the ipad without any trouble at all, using itunes. All my contacts, email, calender (hotmail) transferred by magic I think. I also have a windows phone, which syncs with hotmail nicely, going to work on music tonight on the phone.

There are some neat apps, but I have to explore more. Keep us posted on your new toy.

My boy got one for Christmas and loves it.

I got an HD Kindle Fire. Not sure how I am going to like it but we shall see.

I think it may depend on what you want to do with it. I can see it working for what I do on the internet and not needing my computer.

I said we have 2 iPhones, 2 laptops, 1 pc, 1 mac…why do we need an iPad? The iPad get several hours of use a day… From reading the news and books all the way down to answering important questions when watching TV such as who sings the theme song to Moonshiners (Steve Earle for those wondering).

Michelle curls up on the coach with hers collecting coins for Slotomania. Well worth the $600 for the virtual slot machine.
