Not to dis you but where was the info on the apps?
At first I thought it was an advertisement on the polaris witch was fine with me so I fast forward it in segments to skip the usual yada yada and I missed it.
    Love the polaris though.

I came across the cabelas app the other day. It seems like a pretty cool app. I was hoping to download the Navionics app but I heard it’s Sucks. All the reviewes say it locks up and it costs $10, so I don’t want to spend the money if it’s not gonna work. Anybody have any experience with it??

Hopefully Lakemaster comes out with an app

I have the navionics app for my iPhone 4 and have some screen shots in this thread Click Here It zooms in closer so if you want some more screenshots let me know and of what lake and I’ll throw it up.

I watched that episode on TV, and was pretty impressed, but one question….

With MOST survery info on the DNR site being quiet dated (Early 90’s for example) How relevant has that info been to you guys in finding fish? Is it still valid so to speak?

All surveys are useful in one way or another. Assuming fishing pressure or land use practices haven’t changed significantly an old survey with a great size structure to a population of a target species might warrant the lake in question a second look.

For what it’s worth, I think too many guys are way over the top on the latest/greatest of maps since we entered the era of electronic mapping. Down here near the arm pit of the state, these lakes get more man hours of fishing per suitable acre than you can imagine. Fortunately, enough guys don’t take the time to look back at OLD maps that hold details that are not shown on modern maps. Older paper maps from the 70’s, early 80’s and some that are even older show old creek beds, more geographic info on the surrounding shorelines, and even survey/netting locations. I guess one of the things that always kept me intrigued with fishing. Unlocking information can sometimes take compiling info from multiple treasure maps.
