Anyone built a cedar strip canoe from a kit? Whenever I see one I always think they’re amazing. I wonder how difficult they are to construct for an average handy man. Kits are a little over a grand….I’d hate to buy one and screw it up.
There is an assoc. or club that you can get info on them and I believe plans. My financial adviser built one and he told me about it. The thing was beautiful. I’m going to google it after I’m done here.
My Dad and I made a Redwood strip canoe when I was in High School. That was in 1970. Think Dad got the plans from a magazine. It is still hanging in his garage and hasn’t been in the water for years. Some day, I will have it and can’t wait to get it back in the water.
