I don’t know which lakes my friend fishes out there but he lives in Milbank and I know Waubay, and Enemy Swim are 2 of them. He says the ice is 12″ thick and he’s been out on several lakes in the Webster area with his Snow Bear catching lots of perch.

BIL and I are talking going to that area next month. Should we get a guide or is it easy to get on some of the smaller lakes. Guide suggestions?

No problem I’ve never fished with Joe but have talked to him a few times out there and the guy sure knows his stuff.

Thanks for the info, wonder if any one is driving out in full size pickup yet, as cold as it has been up there would think the ice is coming on fast

I called a local baitshop in Webster, SD they said ice from 9-12 inches, no open water on most lakes, will try with 12-14 inches but not anything else, shouldn’t be long with the way the weather in that area sounds. Looks like we could get 4-5 inches of snow here Thur-Fri, the lake here is so low that you have to walk out a extra 500 yds to get to 4-5 feet of water, should have 6 inches or better after this cold spell, a few under the slot walleyes have been caught in the east bay of lake, Storm Lake,IA, thanks for response Timschmitz
