Was in Gander tonight, the Black rifles were flying off the rack and one gentlemen came in and purchased every over sized clip they had, did not matter what gun it fit. Bulk ammunition and all ammunition was selling more then I normally have seen in the past. The line at the gun counter to look at semi automatic pistols was pretty astonishing.

I’ve heard this about a few places. I was going to hit Cabelas tonight but had to take the kid to the clinic instead. I’ll check it out tomorrow night.

None of the manufacturers can keep up with demand. I’ve been building my own Evil Black Rifle and on Monday, I figured I’d better get the remaining pieces. I snoozed, I loozed. Most places had all of the parts on “indefinite back order”.

Stopped by the local shop to reload the tacklebox with couple walleye baits and it was packed. The Springfield Armory order site signaled ” no longer available or able to backorder” by 9:30 that morning. Crazy. Sad part is the idiots in Washington won’t address the mental illness issues that are the cause of these incidents, but take the opportunity to preach to the ignorant and blame guns.

Its ironic to me that a tragedy like this is actually putting more guns and ammo into our homes!!

I can understand the logic of buying ammo right now, but would feel at risk buying an AR. With 26 dead innocents, most of them 6 years old, if a law outlaws AR’s again, do you really feel people will be grandfathered into keeping them?

Also, all press releases from the white house over the last few days have indicated that gun control is but one of many factors in this case and other factors such as mental health need to be addressed as well.

    Yes, I do think that.

I’ve never been that big into guns… I have my deer rifle and my waterfowl shotgun. Figured they cover most of my outdoor hunting activities.

With that said, I’ve always wanted a Ruger Mini-14 with all the fun accessories as its a cool looking gun. I’ve also never ever had the desire to own an AR-15 but that is definitely changing now. I want one! Handgun ownership with conceal/carry is definitely in my future as well.

Like Cougareye mentioned, the irony is events like this and the ensuing political theatrics is selling more guns and causing folks like me who wouldn’t ordinarily want to own an AR-15 to own one.

I can’t financially afford to rush out and buy one right now but hopefully our government won’t be able to get anything accomplished regarding more gun regulations and I’ll get that opportunity down the road.

If anything, a fella would be smart to stock up on 30 round mags, or ‘clips’ as the idiots in the media like to call them.

Same here. I always roll my eyes when I read hunting articles where guys are using black rifles. However knowing what may be coming, I would like to add one to my arsenal.

I probably wouldn’t even shoot it much as I have many othe weapons that I enjoy shooting.

Coyotes, rabbits, paraire dogs, hogs and deer are a few I’ve heard people hunt with them.

Check out JP Enterprises for some very accurate rifles

My black Rock River Coyote special shoots rings around my Ruger Mini 14 Rancher. Accuracy of the black rifles will usually match or better many rifles of the same caliber. I did not know what real accuracy was until I purchased my BLACK rifle, unless it had a bull barrel and weighed 10 lbs. Every other rifle I own I have to let the barrel cool to keep consistent accuracy.

I almost want to buy some ARs and extended mags just so I can sell them for a nice profit on the black market.

Sling shots have killed small game animals better run out and get one before there all gone.

Once again I understand the fun of shooting these riffles……but after such a horrible incident the gun mfg, are profiting off the deaths of small children and a handfull of teachers. You have every right to disagree with me but I find something terribly wrong here. JMO

I ordered 3 more high capacity mags on Saturday for $15 on sale. I can’t even find one for less then $25 today.

Looked at another AR on Sunday for $669 and today I can’t find any in stock for less then $850 anywhere.

Good way to get the economy turned around in a hurry.

You can’t tell me that Americans are proud of their 2nd amendment rights.

Because this is such a potentially dangerous topic, I thought I’d share my feelings up front so as not to confuse anyone reading. I’m truly saddened by this horrific event. I’ve hugged my kids with tears in my eyes more than once since last week. As you are reading what I’m about to write please know I’m just trying to understand your point of view and share mine. I think as responsible gun owners, we need to be proactive and come to table prepared to help limit the chances of this ever happening again.

I’m truly saddened so many individuals believe politicians are going to “fix” this very complex problem. Our society has been deteriorating since WWII in my opinion. Now hear me out before jumping to a conclusion. Since that time, our culture has changed from one parent working to both parents working. Daycares are raising our kids. They are home alone playing video games for a XX hours a day until Mom and Dad get home. The darn participation medals. Heck, I play in a fat man BB tourney each summer and they give out participation medals. I laughed and told them I’m not 5 and to keep the medal for someone else.

The Christians believe taking God out of the schools leaves them vulnerable. Just today a whole grade school canceled Xmas caroling in the hallways because one parent didn’t want his/her kid saying the words “Christ is born”. The squeaky minority seems to have way too large of influence on our society. The threat of lawsuits blah, blah, blah.

What about these stinkin’ “gun free” zones the government has created. Really, everyday I have to take off my concealed weapon. Lock it in secure device to even go pick my kids up from school. In case anyone hasn’t noticed, the only guys with guns in gun free zones are BAD guys.

After WWII, many, many guns were shipped back to the USA as trophies. Some fully auto, some semi-auto. We are talking 1000’s of guns. We’ve had an abundance of guns in this country for many, many years. I could be wrong, but not many mass shootings happened in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s? If there were, I don’t recall the media sensationalizing the crap out it. Putting out mis-information simply to be the first to report on a story. I believe if we are going to attack the 2nd amendment, the 1st better get another look too. Our media stinks. The lack of integrity is off the charts.

How about law enforcement’s ability to deal with someone who appears to have mental challenges. Are cops even trained to evaluate someone for mental stability? Just yesterday my wife had to send the police to a guy’s house because of verbal and written threats he was making towards a co-worker. Cops showed up, but the guy appeared fine. Not much they could if the wife didn’t want to press charges. Should we really be putting this burden on policemen? Knowing this guy is a potential time bomb.

In my very humble opinion, our society has diminished the value of life. This working ourselves to death, not teaching our children the values our parents were taught and the lack of compassion has got to stop. We need to quit filling our kids full of drugs because they act out. I acted out and got my arse tanned on several occasions. There is nothing wrong with spanking a child. I learned what NO meant.

To me, if anyone believes this is simply a gun issue, well it’s hard to comprehend for me. Heck, I’m probably as big of believer in the 2nd ammendment as most. If I truly thought eliminating the AR platform of rifles from our society would “fix” this problem I’d be shouting at the top of my lungs along with all the other left wing liberals. An example, on a Fox News page. A reader commented on an article “These shootings are the most gruesome things to ever happen to our country.” Maybe this guy wasn’t around for the Oklahoma City bombing or 911 massacre. I was. I remember the pain I felt for those we lost. It felt a lot like last week. I hope I never have to feel that pain again. Something tells me the feel good laws we are about to see won’t solve a single thing.

Sorry for the long winded rant but to simply blame guns is short sighted.

Kooty I am a gun owner also and believe in our 2nd amendment rights. What is troubling me is that everyone jumping on the bandwagon to grab up these guns. The mfg. and stores are exploiting on what has happened. Jmo. But this is a moral problem. Buy rushing out buying up all this stuff is only validating that it is OK for the gun mfg. To profit off of children’s lives.

Im sure the gun mfg would rather have their products on the shelf for the remainder of days but it isnt going to happen. Im sure they would give up this surge of sales to keep their doors open…

How is it the gun mgf and store owners fault that people are now interested in buying what they can…I have to hand it to Obama. One heck of a way to get the economy going!! Had he not started speeches of “Change”. The guns would stil be on the shelves now wouldn’t they???? So I think this is OBAMINATORS chance to finally get the economy going on the souls of the innocents… I’m just saying and it will probably be deleted.

I don’t see how the manufactures, retailers or US citizens have done anything wrong. I haven’t seen a single sales ad that states get your AR rifle before the government takes them away etc… If anyone is exploiting these tragedies, it’s the media and our government officials. The liberals want people to think just like you. It’s the gun’s fault not the insane person. Using your logic, were the gas stations and Home Depot’s of the world exploiting gas and fertilizer after the OKC bombing?

I realize I’m not going to change your opinion and I don’t expect to. I just hope as people read conversations like this they will open their minds and consider alternate viewpoints. This is a very complex problem in our society and we are all going to have to work together to resolve it. In my opinion, if we don’t all come together in the center and put the politics to the side, this problem will only continue to get worse.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and says a prayer or send good thoughts to folks who have suffered from these horrific tragedies.
