I am looking for a good needle nose that can also cut braid line without any hassle. I had a craftsman pro series needle nose that did the trick perfectly. I can not find another pair though. So what do you guys recommend?

I gave up on needle-nose or pliers type cutters a long time ago. The best I have so far is Kevlar (for fiber optics) or low voltage scissors. There are some cheaper ones now than the Greenlee brand. I tried for about 15 years to get Fiskars to make a better version but demand was too low for consideration.
December 17, 2012 at 11:09 pm #1121345Just hit up walmart and pick up a dozen of the small fingernail clippers. Put some in the boat, some in your truck, then one in your pocket each time you go. Only takes a second to snip. A lot easier than trying to find the pliers. They are like $0.50 each.
December 17, 2012 at 11:17 pm #1121350i went with Walmart kid scissors. Sharp little buggers. $.79@
December 18, 2012 at 12:06 am #1121355the fingernail clippers don’t even come close to cutting the braid.
December 18, 2012 at 12:17 am #1121365I went from a clippers to a scissors for braid and now use it for mono also. I will never go back to a clipper.

Have also used a Master Force needle nose and this seems to do the job also. Master Force tools are a little cheaper than the Channel Lock tools. Bought mine at Menard’s.

What kind of braid are you cutting? I’ve cut everything from 2lb ice braid to 80lb power pro with them. Slices clean as can be.

X2 works for me as well.

December 18, 2012 at 3:00 am #1121441I believe this is the ones I have in 6″ it has a carbide cutter and has worked real good so far 5 months.
StanDecember 18, 2012 at 2:26 pm #1121537I’ve been using the “snip” for the last couple years and love it! It cuts braids with no fraying, etc. http://www.boomerangtool.com/shop/the-snip-cutting-tool/
December 18, 2012 at 3:35 pm #1121573I bought a couple and leave them laying around the front and back of the boat. Simple, big finger holes and they work great.
Sure as heck beats the price of the other ones listed. Even if it didn’t last as long, how many could you buy at $4 a pop and still be money ahead.
December 18, 2012 at 3:52 pm #1121579I have several pair of these pliers with built in cutters. I love them. They cut super lines like no other. The ones I have are identical to these but they are red and from Bass Pro. I can’t find them on their mobile website right now but I know they still have them.

I was surfing tonight and I came across these. They look like the ticket and what your looking for. Spendy but they look very useful. I like the idea of replaceable cutters.
the Grip pliers
They also offer a miny version and a heavy duty
