Trying to get inland on the Columbia River. Heavy rains, full moon and tides can make it exciting. From a buddy of mine in Duluth, a ship’s captain himself tells me that the only thing different between Superior in a noreaster and the Columbia River is the color of the water- – jerr

    That’s Crazy!
The guy standing outside the wheekhouse looks likes there’s nothing going on, just another typical day on the water.

That’s unreal. I think I’d be too scared to be seasick.

Is that on Superior? I tried to click on the video, but ever place I click just takes me to a stupid Linked In spam page.

And you think that fisherman don’t earn their money. How would you like to take that trip everyday to work.

Entering the Columbia is supposed to be one of the toughest tasks there is for a captain according to my buddies that guide out there. I’ve had to get back in to the harbor at Girabaldi OR on an outgoing tide and an incoming wind in a 24 foot sled once. I don’t want to ever take that ride again.

In the upper right corner there is a More Info button…click it and it says this took place in New Zealand not the Columbia or Washington State. The accent of the F-bomber corroborates the likely location.
