Wondering……what is the highest percentage that any weather person is correct…..or even weather computers? Where does one find out that they are wrong 90% of the time? Just wondering.
They said it was going to snow and it snowed, how were they wrong ? You know whats funny is you will never hear anyone say “hey the weatherman said it was going to be 80 and sunny today and if that don’t beat all it’s 80 and sunny today, that weatherman he sure is right 10% of the time” but the minute they couldn’t guess the exact amount of snow they are wrong 90% of the time. Just something to think about
Don’t get me wrong I don’t like it when their forcast is inaccurate either, but you never hear about it when they do their job accurately

I’d say the weathermen are about 99% right in Hawaii and Mexico the last couple times I was there.
80 and sunny with a slight chance of an afternoon sprinkle.
They do a good enough job for me to help me with my outdoor plans. I’d challenge anyone that enjoys the outdoors to never listen to another weather forecast again, i’d bet they wouldn’t have as much fun as they used to.
ok geezz now there talking 9 inches in metro thats not 4-6. get my point!!
You are correct. Fire that person!!!!! Anyone could do better than that!!!
sometimes one wishes they never posted.
If it makes you feel better Jason I get what you were saying
Face it. Unless you ski or snowmobugle any snow sucks. We need rain and that doesn’t have to be shoveled.
I ran in to Paul Douglas one time and asked him what happened in October of 91 (Halloween Blizzard)? His response “Sometimes predicting the weather is not a perfect science” and walked away.
I rely on my weather rock.
If the rock is wet, it’s raining.
If the rock is swinging, the wind is blowing.
If the rock casts a shadow, the sun is shining.
If the rock does not cast a shadow and is not wet, the sky is cloudy.
If the rock is not visible, it is foggy.
If the rock is white, it is snowing.
If the rock is coated with ice, there is a frost.
If the ice is thick, it’s a heavy frost.
If the rock is bouncing, there is an earthquake.
If the rock is under water, there is a flood.
If the rock is warm, it is hot out.
If the rock is missing, there was a tornado.
If the rock is wet and swinging violently, there is a hurricane.
Nice to see people defending weather forecasters. Weather is a moving target. There are so many variables that go into it, that even with all the equipment they have, it isn’t an exact science.
They should stick to predicting sun rise and sun set. Anything more than that is a long shot.

We all know there’s only so much you can do to predict Mother Nature. My problem with today’s meteorologists is that they have a lot more technology at their disposal, often claim to have “up to the MINUTE” forecasts (um, ok sure) and can out “guess” their competitors, but the reality is that they don’t do a whole heckuva lot better than the ol’ school guys like Bud Kralig (sp?)use to
><(((>

Anyone can give an up to the minute forecast, it’s called looking out the window

At least they were not talking about guns
Reeds Landing got 10.2″. About 10 miles south at the Alma dam they got 5.2″. I would fully expect this difference should be able to be predicted.
No kidding… then last night across the bottom of the screen during the LIONS game they are flashing school closings and late starts…. WTH ? When I was a kid, we would get up 2 hours early, to see if we were gonna be 2 hours late…
now, the kids can see it before going to bed and sleep in
Oh yeah, the 4 hours we had to burn until the later school time, were spent with a shovel…
