I would appreciate any leads on a boat for my Dad. He wants a 15 or 16 footer with a 4 stroke motor and power tilt. Tiller or steering wheel doesn’t matter but a decent fishing boat. He has a budget of approx. $5000. He lives in the St.Cloud MN. area but willing to travel for the right boat. Thanks

It’s best to watch CL, I just saw one last week close to that. tough time of year to be looking though, not as much selection as a couple months ago. There will be quite a few of these come spring but the prices will be higher, on something like that though you should be able to wheel and deal on a few of them in the spring and see if one bites. good luck.

Also watch CL around boat show time when people get the itch to upgrade.

Try Stark’s in Prairie du Chien. They always have a lot of used boats, the better ones are stored inside .

In that size, I would suggest a tiller boat. It will seem like there is a lot more usable space than a wheel boat.

I agree with Targa as far as watching walleye central.

On a good day you can get a steal on an older one for $35000

X2 I’ve bought 2 new boats from Starks. Price wise, it was well worth the 5 hour round trip drive for me. I have never priced a used boat there but they do have a lot of them.

I haven’t looked recently, only house payment type boats? That’s too bad..

In that price range I would wait until the spring so you can test run it and see what you are getting. You might be able to find a better deal this winter but you could be buying someone else’s problems.

I buy used boats all the time, fix them up and remarket them.

Most all of the problems i find are cosmetic. ONly once have i found a hull problem.

I’d say buy in the winter while prices are low.

Come spring time I may have a very nice Princecraft Pro 176 for sale. 115 HP Yamaha oil injected, Merc 9.9 Kicker with electric start and remote controls & Steer, 24V bow mount trolling motor, Trollmaster for the kicker, New batteries, 4 seats, Bimini Cover, 2 Fish finders, lots of other extras.
