With being out of town , I don’t want to miss Tuck’s baseball games this spring, plus thought it would be fun to put some of our fishing on film. Looking maybe not the best ,but dual purpose camera/camcorder that is fairly compact, durable and water resistant. Anybody got some suggestions?
And yes I am stuck at home and Tuck is in the Falls so a little boooored.

Definitely on my mind , but I super promised this weekend to the FW. She is truly the best so as Forrest Gump would say ” And that’s all I’m gonna say about that “.

Make sure you do a little work and get familiar on file types different digital cameras record in. .avi, m4g …. there are many types. The most important aspect of this is knowing what types of files your editing program will accept.

I use i-movie but there are quite a few that offer a wide range of qualities and features. Most every file can be converted to the file type your editing program need but it may cost you buying a program or a GB fee.

I like the FLIP series for cost and ease or use but their long distance capabilities are poor so for sports action I would not recommend them.

you may also want to consider a nikon or canon still camera that has 1080 capabilities. i’ve shifted much of my production over to these bodies.

one of the things that i’ve noticed is that many of the cameras market their editing capabilities instead of their shooting features. almost all of the editing programs will take good care of you. focus on getting the footage out of the field and onto a desktop.

also, as you get more experience you will want to upgrade your sound with clipon pickups. make sure your camera will pick up a quality audio track IN ADDITION to the one it lays down…
