Are AMD processors reliable? Or should I only be looking for a laptop with intel processors.

    Thanks,

Absolutely! You get more bang for the buck with AMD

I’ve not had the best luck with AMDs. But they’re also all very old AMDs. I’d go with a new Intel Core i3, i5, or i7.

I have an AMD laptop and desk top…both work great and you definitely get more for your money.

i build a lot of desktops. On the advice of ASUS i now use only intel, mostly i7s.
I suspect the advice would transfer to laptops…

Ford vs Chevy … and we all know Chevy Rocks!

I have been and always will be AMD if at all possible but either will suffice for you so I wouldn’t sweat it either way!

I have an old desk top running an AMD dual-core with windows XP, and a new laptop windows 7 running Intel Pentium. Notice no difference.

What does make a difference is having enough RAM memory IMHO. Next would be hard drive capacity with a high seek rate.

    just my .05$ worth

Well it’s been a while that we quit buying and using AMDs so I don’t recall specifics. I guess it just seems we have better luck overall with the Intel Core processors.
