I did…What could they hold him on? They have no evidence against him. They can’t find the gun….No witnesses…

If there’s insufficient evidence, you have to let him go. That’s how the game works and I would hope to be given the same rights were I accused of a crime.

They can always rearrest him if more evidence comes to light.

I eouldn’t be fooled. They didn’t “just release” him. I’m sure they have a close eye on him. Better to have a solid case and the propper evidence than try him and have the entire case FUBAR

….and has repeatedly denied any involvement. Looks like they simply got the wrong guy. Also, the suicide story appears to be false too. Why is it Tuesday before any of this stuff gets reported?

No matter what it’s sad this young man was murdered. I just don’t see how so many facts could be mis-represented for so long? Can you imagine being the person wrongly accused? Assuming this guy is innocent.

Who placed the damn 911 suicide call? I am sure they got a trace on that number? This guy claims he was asleep when the cops questioned him?

There was no 911 call that I ever saw reported. There was a call to police from the accused mom asking police to do a welfare check. That’s all.

That is what frustrates me about this story. The local press here in the metro area were happy to let us all believe there was a suicidal cop killer sitting in jail. When now it appears that is far from the truth. Does anyone do any solid investigative reporting anymore?

This seemed to come out of nowhere. But yes, no evidence you can’t hold him forever. They even got an extra 24 hours to try to put something together but couldn’t. This is a huge tragedy all around. A man is dead and we have a cop killer on the loose in central MN.

I think the media and us just assumes the first arrested suspect is the guilty one because 99.9% of the time it is. This caught everyone by suprise. If the man is innocent as it appears its a real tragedy he spent time in jail and had his face plastered all over the place. Immagine if that happened to you.

    Ah, thanks.

I’ve got about 100 different scenarios going through my head, none of which matter. A young man, a father, a husband, a cop was killed. I just pray for the investigators and that they find the guilty.

We’ve (the public) probably got about 1% of the story and 1% of the evidence.
