It seems the Palomar is the knot of choice for braid.
That knot tyer seems neat for us klutzes and looks solid. Is it good for braid if ya got the time to use it.
I use the blood knot for braid to mono. Is this ok, it seems solid and tight.
Is it necessary to use a floreu for a leader with braid.
Am I missing strikes by not using a leader. I use a snap swivel to fasten the lure on my braid.
Thanks for any info and advise.

The palomar knot is easy enough to tie. Unless you’re eyesight is bad or your fingers don’t work like they used to, a knot-tier for palomar knots is a waste of money.

As far as a leader goes, it depends on what you’re fishing for.

That gives me a great idea for a fishing-inspired line of wedding merchandise.

Yes, Palomar for braid works well. If casting, I usually don’t use a fluorocarbon leader unless its very very clear water and the bite is light. However, if jigging, still fishing, etc I ALWAYS use a leader. I have been in groups where the braid jigging fisherman get routinely outfished by those that use leaders or straight fluor/mono.

For tying braid to fluorocarbon leaders I use the uni-uni knot and it has worked well. You can find how to tie it on YouTube, not too hard after you tie it a few times. Worth the extra time IMO.
