I looked at it on WC’s site and within a hour I got the same email. I don’t know if my email has been sold but sure seems like.
Just got the same email, they have a po box for contact info, seems sketchy. They are forever blocked. I wonder how they got our emails?

I wouldn’t buy (or even look at) something that comes in an unsolicited email.
When folks click on it, they know their emailing lists work and you/I will receive more spam.
There better ways to advertise and a better use of our time then deleting spam. (whether this is or not…don’t know)
IMHO anyway.

Brian–A person doesn’t even have to click on the e-mail to let the sender know it went through. The fact that it didn’t bounce back tells the sender that at least it’s still a valid e-mail account on that server. The presumption that most marketeers will make is that it’s active; however, having seen that a message has been clicked on addresses the issue of viewing and certainly confirms an active account.
The latest FLW walleye mag had a little story about the walleye skin wallets. Apparently, they are all the rage in Canada. So they are a legit product.
Their marketing techniques, not so much.
This is true Chris, but I can only control so much.
I miss the “bounce” feature on Apple’s Mail email program.

Wish Windoze had it…that would be very useful.
I know who is behind the spam emails for walleye leather now, if you wish to know PM me. You wont believe who it is.
Just post it John. If it’s true, they shouldn’t be upset right?
This is Scott Golden’s Walleye Skin website the former owner of Walleye Central who sold recently. If you have a Walleye Central account that might explain why you received the email. And before everyone piles on about the walleye slaughter to make these wallets they are using the skins that used to be thrown away by the commercial fisherman in Winnipeg, Canada. They actually are getting great reviews but not really my style.
Happy Birthday Tim !!! Guessing you don’t want a walleye wallet as a gift ???
As long as they aren’t making flathead skin wallets I’m happy. LOL!
Here is a link to the story on the owner/inventor: http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/fish-for-change-in-a-walleye-wallet-169998566.html
I ordered a couple business card holders…. I will report what I think of them after I get them
They are tougher than one would think, I like mine, but at the same time I will say it’s kind of like fish-o-flauge. The purpose is serves can be served other ways, for less money, and the reason to do it is kind of an expression of the owner to state the passion for a sport you enjoy.
The walleye skins used are from the millions of lbs of walleye that are harvested out of Lake Winnipeg each year. There is no additional demand for commercial walleye created, as only a small portion of the existing commercial harvest is used for the walleye skin products.
Interesting, durable, unique, conversation piece, and somewhat expensive.

Green Backs to hold Green Bucks?
Still won’t support spam.
Yep. Great idea, but I won’t buy one just on the principle of the unsolicited email I received.
I didn’t get the spam email.. then again, I was not & will not be a Walleye Central site member. Loyalty has it’s privileges For $25, I think it will be a cool conversation piece and some cat can go hungry

Not a walleye central guy. Still got the E-Mail.
Me either but whatever they are doing they are getting results in web hits and sales, how many people are talking about them and spreading their name and idea around….I don’t agree with how I got contacted but they are doing something right

If I stood on that principle, I wouldn’t buy anything …

X2 and then some
I visit the website daily, am a registered user, clicked on the ad, and looked around the website. I still haven’t got an email.
If I wouldn’t have read this post yesterday I never would have seen it. Thanks! I think my wife is getting me a wallet for Christmas.
Walleye skin isn’t alone in these practises. Yesterday for the first time in a long time I went to Musky Hunter. Yep, e-mail from them last night. Needless to say I won’t be back there again.
My wife got me a walleye skin wallet for Christmas. It looks really nice and has held up to a few days of abuse in my back pocket.
