How does Twitter work?

I signed up in ’09 and forgot about it.

Last week I realized I had an account. Got rid of the BBC that I was following.

So far, all I get is a 15 minute heads up of what’s going to be on the Outdoor Channel and 20/20 asking if I’ve ever had a work place melt down.

I did follow the @frankenstorm while that was coming. Good info since I know some people out that way.

When I get a tweet sometimes there’s a link and when I click on it, it takes me to a list of like people to follow.

Am I doing something wrong or just don’t get it?

Some of that I don’t know what you are talking about, but here’s a quick overview.

    – You will see tweets from anyone you follow and vice-versa if they follow you

    – If you use a persons user name in your Tweet (Usernames must start with @ ex. @mplspug (hint hint)) they will see the Tweet regardless if they follow you. Basically including user names in the Tweet means you are Tweeting them or at least want them to see it

    – Using a hashtag “#” with something behind it is a way of grouping things. For instance if we start #IDOFishing, we can then put that in our fishing related Tweets and anyone searching for #IDOFishing will get all the tweets that contain it.

Would you like mye to explain Instagram now?

I had a pornstar following me for a couple months and that was entertaining, then she unfollowed me and I have lost interest in twitter ever since.

I’d rather watch Dancing with the stars.

I have an facebook thing and can’t remember the password, thank god.

Prob some good things but I’d rather live life than worry about if someone likes me. imho

Ya, I know, not much different than being here.

So what your saying is that if I want interesting tweets, I have to follow myself?

Kinda like chasing my own tail isn’t it?

Who are some interesting people to follow? Hey Buzz? You on Tweeter?

I mostly use it for following hockey players and hockey reporters day to day tweets, especially with the lockout.
