I always laugh when Subway claims to be so healthy while others are so unhealthy.

Again…choices. I choose not to eat at McDonalds and I also choose not to have the BIG sandwich you have referenced. If I had to choose, give me the sub, at least TWICE as much food (maybe 3x as much), but not 2x as many calories and fat… it’s all relative Now I laugh !!

If I’m eating fast food, its Subway! The nice thing about Subway is I can get a healthy sandwich if I want or get it loaded down with stuff and grab some chips or a cookie when I want to splurge. My wife and I split a $5 most of the time, so its a pretty cheap meal. You guys can have your fancy sandwiches. I’ll save my money for crankbaits.

What subway are you going too ??? Those who hate it, sure know alot about it…

I guess I would have said before, “ask anybody in the health field, what is better for you or at least less evil, Subway or McDonalds”… but after seeing Wades post, looks like that is not right either. Really ???

Thought I heard the subway tuna fish is one of the most fat loaded options you could get.

Technically, when you start heaping on the sauces (ranch, southwest, etc) cheese, extra cheese and so on, thats where the fat starts piling on any sandwich. Again, choices. You can’t go to McDonalds and get a BIG MAC without their “special sauce” already on it…

Tuna ? Who the he77 eats Tuna ???

C’mon now Kooty, you had BIGfife in your boat at one time. I look a little different now. Back then if I was having fast food it was probably Wendy’s or Taco Bell. Now its Subway.

I am eating a Fillet-O-Fish as we speak that looks like it was left over from Lent last year.

Here is something I just realized too and don’t tell me marketing is a waste of money.

I had the “Gimme that Filet o Fish” jingle as a ring tone a few years ago. Didn’t know it was even on my phone. Well I have shuffled my music and I was listening to it this morning when that jingle played. I haven’t thought about that until I just put 2 and 2 together. I had no idea where to eat. It was between Wendy’s and McDonald’s. Then I thought a fillet o fish sounds like a nice change.

I think G hit it on the head. We all have choices to make. Most of us choose fast food, junk food. Personally I’m a Arby’s Market Fresh sandwich guy. I don’t care, nor do I wanna know the calorie count. I eat it, it tastes good, that’s all I care about.

I would venture to guess we all can find a place to buy a banana if we cared to eat healthy.

Anybody who thinks health comes before profits in a national fast food restaurant should think again.

I am allergic to all dairy products including anything that has dairy in it. Therefore I don’t eat out often. But I have eaten at most all the fast food places at one time or other. They put additives in the everything to make it taste better and to get you addicted to it. That is why so many go to those places and eat most of the time. You can go to a regular resteruant and eat most times for less than the fast food places. And is just as healthy or more so. Also the soda’s you drink are as fattening or more so than the meal.

I dont think fast food is junk when eaten in moderation. It contains nourishment that powers you through the day like any other food. I would just not suggest eating it too often or multiple times per day. And if you include other more natural meals in your day then I just dont see the problem?

I personally like Subway, but there are not a lot of other sub choices where I live. My complaint is that the list of $5 footlongs is shrinking. The $5 footlong of the month often now becomes one of the previous $5 footlongs or a modification of it.

I can’t remember what city I was in when I first had Firehouse Subs. They are OK, however they are just another Sub shop with a different color of lipstick.

Cousins subs has the best bread hands down, and I don’t know what they due to the onions but those onions are the best tasting onions. Since I was a kid eating Cousins in Milwaukee area they were always my favorite sub place. They just built a new one in Eau Claire but the subs run you about $6-8 now. Pay for quality get quality….

For a company whose slogan is “Eat Fresh,” it’s pretty ballsy that not a single thing on the menu is actually fresh.

Jimmy Johns tastes better, but Subway is priced better IMO. However I’ll put Subway’s omelet sandwich on flatbread with onions, tomatoes and spinach against anything Jimmy Johns offers. Calories are nil and lots of protein. 6″ for $3 and very tasty.
