So, the wife and kids have been suggesting that they would like a vacation on the coast, possibly the Myrtle beach area. Well I thought the least I could do was check into it so I googled Myrtle beach. Overwhelmed is an understatement, North, South, Central? hundreds of places to stay. Anyone have any pointers? What area or type of lodging has anyone done.Looking at about 4-5 day stay late spring early summer. Oh yeah, if anyone has used a fishing charter in that area also, I’d like to have at least one fun day

Pointer #1………………do not go during spring break unless,

    A) You don’t require sleep

    2) You are 23 years old and single.

    That town is PARTY CENTRAL.

My wife and I were married down there and we still make it back every few yrs. I agree don’t go during spring break, way to hectic. Love the area and alot to see and do. Dixie Stampede was awesome. Kids loved it too. Plan stuff on line its cheaper than when you go to the door.

Went with the family a few years ago. We stayed in a central location and did things in every direction. One thing I found is that there was a large drop in the cost of lodging the last week of August. Be ready for the heat it was 100 every day.
