I want to buy my wife a smart phone. I think Apple. She’s coming off a dumb phone so I dont need top end nor do I want to spend that kind of money. What level iPhone has the goods including internet access and the like?
Any other info you need from me to make a decsision?

iPhone 4 to current is what I recommend. If you go any older you may loose software capabilities. iPhone 4 goes for around $99 with new contract.
If youre just jumping in, and dont need the fastest, biggest, best.. and just want the internet and what not, get the 8gig 4 (not 4s) its free with a 2 year contract i believe. It doesnt have all the bells and whistles, but it gets the job done. I think for $100 you can get the next level up, the 4S in an 8 gig.
I on the other hand have th 64 gig 5.. Must have the biggest, best. LOl
I picked up the 3GS which is the first one and it does everything I want it too. I got it for free with an up grade as well
I have a 4 and it is easy to use and do internet and e-mail.
Android Galaxy is the best smart phone going right now, at a fraction of the cost.
Take her into an ATT Store and have her try them both.
My father was in the same position last year. Upgrading from a dumb phone. He had totally drunk the Apple coolaid and was convinced that the sun shined out of Steve Job’s backside and therefore he should go iPhone.
So I made him try the Galaxy and the iPhone head to head. You know, just to compare. He bought the Galaxy because he found it easier to use.
Everyone is different. Have her try them head-to-head and keep an open mind.

I was just about to say, I wouldn’t surprise my wife with a phone without knowing for sure that it is the one that she would be comfortable with….

Pretty sure the I Phone4 is FREE with upgrade and the 4S is $99 now. The only real dif that I know of is that the 4s has SIRI who talks to you and you can talk to here. Kinda like voice internet search. It’s cool but not worth $99 to me. I went from multiple droids to my first IPhone this summer and I LOVE IT. Better service, reception (sprint) and everything is super secure. My droid would go nuts on me from time to time like it had it’s own thoughts or something. it was crazy/.
iPhone4 is $0.99 with 2 year extension on contract. If you do not extend your contract it is $450.00. iPhone4s is $99.99 with extension.
