Well, after debating to enter, I can officially say i’m jacked up fot the tourney this weekend. Weather looks good and i’m looking forward to seeing some of the fish brought in. I have been down twice in the last week to try and stumble on some saugers but no luck. Always to easy to say, “they must not be biting today”. That should end saturday when guys who know what they are doing weigh in limits. Hoping to meet many of you and learn how to put something in my boat other than sheephead! I now have 2 days to decide on upstream or downtream from takeoff.

I’ll be sitting in the Everts Bait shop trying to keep my butt out of actual work…so stop by and chat when you can. (that aught to take up a few hours )
October 17, 2012 at 4:44 pm #1105745Watch the reports carefully…no mention of any Sauger upstream yet…

There are no saugers in Pool 4.

You’re sick every day Mister—-whether you call in or not.
Double check your drain plug big guy!
October 17, 2012 at 6:00 pm #1105788The boy is babysitting me this weekend so HA HA!!!!!! All I have to do is show up and catch sauger and harass the old guy in the bait shop at Everts
October 17, 2012 at 6:03 pm #1105790I’m screwed.
HEY KARI!
HIDE all the REDNECK/Cracker Moxies…’ell hide everything that’s redneck/cracker!!
October 17, 2012 at 6:12 pm #1105799You guys sure know how to make my decision easier. No fish upstream, none downstream, and reports of no sauger in the river…this should make for an interesting weigh-in
With my recent fishing trips, it’s a loss downstream and loss upstream so I guess I don’t know why I’m having such a hard time deciding. Is it a proven tourney strategy just to follow the shiniest boat?October 17, 2012 at 6:25 pm #1105808Welcome to the world of tournament fishing Ocean Honest answers are hard to come by in the weeks before a tournament. Everyone on fish isn’t talking and everyone that isn’t on fish is asking I have played the game long enough that I just go out and do my own thing and see what happens usually with less than stellar results. I know my name is still not on that Saugerama plaque and that is on my bucket list.

I’ll give you an honest answer…
Sometimes.
October 17, 2012 at 7:26 pm #1105825Well, if somebody two states away thinks there’s no fish at the dam, then there must not be a single fish there. I guess that anybody fishing above Everts has been warned, if you catch a single Sauger there, you’re a miracle worker. The Yoopers have spoken.
