We are in Mpls, and on our second amplified indoor antenna. No cable or dish, just old-fashioned Air reception. We have a newer flat screen with all the bells and whistles.

We are constantly trying to reposition the antenna to get stations, getting digital break-up from wind and rain, snow.

Anyone on else having this and did you get an outdoor antenna, what type and how does it work for you?

I have had the same antenna laying on the rafters in the attic for over 30 years. When digital TV came around I didn’t change a thing and it works fine. Plenty of signal.
My understanding is that most of the new digital channels are on UHF frequencies. A UHF antenna up in the clear should work pretty good.

On the other hand, I think the new digital format for TV signals is bogus. I didn’t mind a little snow on an analog signal but I HATE picture freeze up with the digital format. Every time an airplane flies over the picture freezes. I have better aircraft detection capability than the Airport does.

Best antenna i’ve used, hands down, no powered or amplified, outdoor safe, but I actually have just hung in the the window between the curtains and blinds works great, there are ones out there that have 2 and 4 times this antenna, but even in the south end of lakeville, and not very good line of sight, works awesome.

There are more expensive versions but I can’t see what if anything they are better at. I’d venture the guess a single would be fine, I’m not an expert but it may be possible to have too much antenna, but even so if you bought a 2 or 4 panel one I bet you could unhook them just as easy if you had issues.

Money wasn’t really a concern (within reason) when I bought this antenna, I’ve paid a lot more in the past, this is the best I’ve used.
