Heading home from pool 2 yesterday I just caught a glimpse of billboard on 52 heading towards down town st paul. This was right by 52 and concord. Looked like a wolf with its paw stuck in a trap. Anyone else see this? See what group put this up?

Anyone seen any other anti wolf billboards like this popping up anywhere?

Peta no longer acts as Minnesota’s big game management team. Anyone want to buy out that billboard contract?? I’m IN!! Deer herds across the state applaud a courts timely vision. Now lets hope Minnesota enforcement officers have a plan in place when both hunters and trappers encounter these same people afield. Please let me be on record as saying “Have a plan” to take out the trash when it gets…..TOO STINKY.

You mean this one? It’s pretty pathetic if you ask me.

I would gladly chip in to buy out the contract.

Yep. think that was it. Just saw it real quick out of the corner of my eye. We could just change the photo to some poor guy getting a ticket for a drop of water dripping off his boat.

Think they are put up to appeal to people like my mom who think deer should be allowed to have guns during deer season to. I just keep telling her everyone knows deer are stupid and would end up shooting each other.

There is one in downtown St. Paul at 7th and Lafayette that is pretty gruesome, lots blood. Looks like wolf was chewing foot off.

Saw an awesome bumper-sticker on my way through Montana a few weeks ago. It had the picture of a wolf head in crosshairs and a slogan, “Smoke a Pack a Day”. Nice.

A three legged Wolf walks into a saloon and sits down at the Bar. The bartender asks him “What do you want?”. The Wolf says “I’m looking for the man that shot my paw”.

Yea I know it’s a lousy joke but it’s early yet.

Those billboards inside the Twin Cities outer ring are expensive. Once the elections are over they will disappear along with the anti’s. But, just like a bad penny the anti’s will re-appear for another cause.

Best thing all you hunters and farmers can do is carry camera’s. Anytime you see a carcass torn apart by Wolves snap some pictures. Any Bambi pictures will have the most impact. At some point maybe a web site could be started to carry all these photo’s along with gill netting photo’s and the dumped piles of fish we see every year. It will let the bleeding hearts know that these issue’s have two sides.

Very well could be. In their rush to get the sign up they couldn’t find a wolf picture that was “cute” enough. They would probably put a Alaskan Husky in the trap if they knew they could get away with it.

Ahhhh…..and here the problem is almost uncovered. A reality picture of a deer carcass is considered intolerable on social mediums, television and many published articles. Lets hide reality as certainy the general public can continue to be in a fog and never gain clarity within. It’s s though we almost enjoy living in a land of make believe where deer are given a dose of fuzzy smelling salt posibly smelling of Apple fritters and Skittles…Then they simply don’t wake up via the normal feather duster Anyone who cares to know the truth; I run into multiple deer kill sites a season on the ice. Most of the time a wolf will attack the hamstrings of a deer disabling further movement while the hungry pack attacks like……WAIT FOR IT “A Savage Pack of HUNGRY WOLVES”. Seems strange to anyone this analogy is ever used?? Then of course straight to the juggler. The Juggler hold is precisely the position our deer herd is in within the range region. I often wonder how “Peta” places more value on one animal versus another?? I’d love to here a strategic plan for the “Mean Green”. Maybe I’ll dunk donuts at their next team meeting and take notes. Seems a deer bleeding from the nose after being run to death and then eaten alive is a tad more gruesome than a well placed kill shot via spinning lead? Still reasoning is wasted with the unarmed brain.

How about “Hey city folks, you want wolves in your back yard playing with your kids?”

Which is why I suggested it’s own web site. There are hundreds of users on these fishing sites who also cross over to more mainstream sites and post. We know the guys here will pimp a web site any chance they get, so why not on the mainstream sites? A well worded opening paragraph warning visitors of the graphic nature of the photo’s to start with. Then explain the purpose of the web site……….to educate those who believe Wolves and other predators (gill netters) do no harm.

For all of us here to rant and rave about Wolves does nothing. It’s preaching to the choir. No different then walking onto a small car lot and dealing with the owner. Think he has a un-biased opinion?

Besides………these billboards are funded by guys with very deep pockets. You will never outspend them through the traditional media outlets. These are people who when little Billy or Suzi comes home from school and says “daddy, look what we learned about Wolves today. Hunters want to slaughter them. Aren’t they cute daddy. How can we help save them daddy?”

    Beautiful. God I love nature.

Think of the billboards this way, they are wasting money on something that is not going to change.

I would donate money to put a billboard up showing a similar picture, where the wolf is standing over a slain dog still attached to a chaing and a caption that read GOT DEER?

Come on, guys. So your passion for wolf hunting is spurred by your altruistic motivations to save the deer?! That argument sounds a lot like the one you’re criticizing. Does it really matter if a wolf or a hunter kills the deer? At least your argument supports the number of dogs I’ve shot chasing deer and/or making a nuissance of themselves. As far as the statement about the scary wolf in your backyard; check the sex offender list for your area; there’s the real threat. No one dares make a statement about that. I have no complaint if you support the wolf hunt, but let’s not make this about honoring yourselves with the benevolence you’re bestowing on the deer population.

It does matter. The DNR can manage the number of deer killed by hunters. They can’t manage the number killed by wolf. That is not until now.

Wait, now you’re contending that the DNR is ‘managing’ something? That is an entirely new perspective on this website. You, my friend, are a courageous soul to take that stance here. Again, if everyone is so fearful of the impact on the deer population; are you going to lobby to discontinue the use of automobiles given the number of road kills that “can’t be managed”? Let’s get off the ‘save the deer’ propaganda.
