Will, I’ve read your post and have been following the replies…without coming up with words to translate my thoughts. Still can’t.

Life is way to short. And it’s a tragedy when it comes to an end at 30 years.

There is nothing closer then fishing friends besides family it’s self.

The only thing I can say that might help is cherish the time you had with your friend. Really when in comes down to brass tacks that’s all we have. Time with family and friends.

Sorry for everyone’s loss. Another one of the senseless things we can’t explain in life. As others have mentioned, us older guys know that when stuff happens it happens fast. Most times it’s just a inconvenience or something easily fixed. Then there are things like this where there is no fixing it. Hug the ones you love, make time for those you don’t know, everybody needs somebody. Don’t assume everything will be fine for ever. Fairy tales don’t come true.

Thoughts and prayers to the family.

Oh so very sad to read this Will. I think all of us wish to be the way your friend seemed to always be. I don’t know what kind of relationship you have with his family, but I wish you luck in the coming days, and hope you can someday live with him through his son. A very long pause, and many thoughts go out to him, his friends, and his family.

That’s a terrible loss. Another Brother of the Angle leaves us, only hope is that his next stop is as least as good as the times you shared with him.

Wow… I’m so sorry to hear this tragic news Will. My heartfelt condolences go out to you and Rick’s family. Even though I never had the privilege of meeting him, I ended up shedding a tear based on all the nice things that you wrote above. It made me think about some of my close fishing friends – like you. There’s such a strong bond between two fishing buddies. I always say fishing is never about the fish. It’s about building cherished memories with your loved ones and the loss of Rick is certainly a reminder for all of us to appreciate the time we get to spend together on the water. Again, I’m sorry for your loss and I’m here for you when you need some support.
