Need to put a new bathroom ceiling fan in my house. Need a quiet powerful exhaust fan. Small bathroom.
Any recommendations for the model of fan?
Also any idea on reasonable cost to have someone hook it up?
Not able to do it myself.

    Thanks, Mike

    Mike,
You will need to provide a little more info to get an idea on what it will cost. Do you have an existing fan? Is it already vented? Do you already have a power supply? Are you looking to add a lite or heat lamp to existing? Is it accessable from attic? Best case would be about an hour to install if there is existing wiring and venting. Cost for ceiling fans varies greatly. Check them out at Menards or Home Depot. Cheapest will be about 30.00 give or take.

Panasonic bathroom fans are about the best and quietest that we ever installed. Think the retail back 5 years ago was about $200. They are quite to the point where you will forget them on.

Sorry I was lacking some key info in that post.
I am looking to put in a new fan take out the old one. Electric in, side vent to outside of house.Might want to put a fan with a light in if i have a big enough circuit. Anyone recommend putting the fan on a timer switch? The kids always leave the fan on.

    Thanks for the help!

Panisonic or the Broan QTX series! Very low sone fans.

If you’re just replacing one, why not do it yourself. Take the old one out and put the new one in. It’s pretty simple you just clamp down the vent tube and connect three wires.

I put all my fans on timers, not because they forget to turn them off but because they shower and then turn them off and leave all the moisture in there. So now they turn on the dial and it turns off after x minutes. It has worked great

Good suggestions on the Panasonic and Broan! Check with your local electric company and Focus on Energy, there may be rebates from them.

I use a timer on all of my Bathroom fans, Menards has one that has buttons on it for 5, 10, 15, 30, and 60 minutes. Beats the heck out of the old dial ones. It remembers the last button pushed and it’s illuminated with a small led. Press the main button or one of the timer buttons and it starts the fan.

Seriously, I’ve gotta walk through the electric isle more often. That sounds like a FANtastic project for this weekend.
