Rainy Lake Advice

    Heading up this coming Wed thru Sun. Weather looks like it is going to change and get cold and windy. We have a guide for Wed and then we are on our own for 4 days. This is our first trip to Rainy. We are staying at Thunderbird Lodge. Being a newbie, are there going to be places to get out of the wind and catch fish and not get beat up? I know its a huge body of water, but just looking for some advice. Thanks.

    Yep. you are good. Straight out from Thunderbird you will start running into islands and places to hide behind. Ask the guide to show you where the back channel is. I wouldn’t advise running through the area but there are plenty of places to hide.

    Unless the water is down the river has some nice SLAPADORS!
