2 years on my original battery. I am very surprised how ling it has lasted. I bought a replacement when I got my terrova, still in my tool box.

I went two years on my first one and just replaced it this spring, now counting months on my second battery.

I doubt I’ll get two years out of it this time.

I rarely use my backlite on the remote screen…according to the manual that pretty much eats a lot of battery life.

Put a new terrova on my boat in Aug.Went to RL for a week and battery died mid week. The new battery still shows full charge.Maybe they get a bad batch now and then.I was lucky I read a post here when I bought it that batteries could be a issue, so I had a spare.

I’m using a new controller on a new terrova…. original battery died third time out, never used the light. Replacement made it through two trips….. after an amusing conversation with someone at MinnKota, they said without the light, a year of decent use could be a good expectation. They sent me a new unit.

Are you guys unplugging your trolling motor? If not, that is why your remote batteries are dying. If you are unplugging, then I can’t help.

I usually don’t, and the service person at Minn kota told me specifically that it does not matter… and unplugging it wasn’t any part of it, guess it makes sense being a lot of the units are hard wired without a plug.
