I have a small boat that doesn’t really have gunnels on it and would like to have rod holders for either the seats (bench) or the boat sides. Any suggestions? They don’t need to be fancy.

Are you opposed to drilling 4 holes @ 1/4″ each? Scotty bases with through bolts mounted just below the gunnel rail on the inside. Stainless pan head bolts would look fine IMHO. Scotty Bases

I put a long bolt through my oar lock then through a 2×4. I cover the 2×4 with carpet then screwed the rod holders to the 2×4. I used a wingnut on the bottom of the board in case I have to take it off on the lake.

I use the side mount bases just like the scotty brand on my rebel.
