It’s generally AFTER THE FACT that we think it’s funny. At the time it causes language that would make a sailor blush.

Sorry to hear about your trouble but it can always be worse. My brother in law traveled all day yesterday to Webster SD to fish this week. They got to the ramp at 4:30 PM to put the boats in. Don is 76 has poor hearing and is blind in one eye. He was not paying attention and was run over by his buddy on the ramp. He is back in Dubuque in the hospital and will need some skin graphs but should be OK other than a very painful experience plus missing out on the fishing.

    LOL

I did something similar last fall. I was on a great fall smallmouth river bite and was there every day I could be. I do the same thing each and every time I launch. I am going through my routine which includes clipping on a rope to the bow eye and pushing my boat off its roller trailer. I reach under and snap on the clip, undo the strap and give it a good shove. The boat rolls off with ease and slides in the river. I grab the other end of the rope to pull the boat up to the dock and realize that the clip I thought was attacted to the boat was laying in the water.
Now I look out and my boat is drifting 40 feet out and slowly being pulled by the current
What else can a guy do but laugh sometimes when stupid hits you in the head.
Luckly the word of the bite had gotten out and another fisherman was pulling to launch his boat just as mine was a few hundred yards downstream. I sheepishly asked for a lift to my boat.
The worst part of it was the person I asked for a ride is a good friend and will not let me live it down……
