I-Pilot Question

I have a Terrova and I get frustrated that the remote seems to frequently go to sleep / the screen blacks out. It wouldnt be a big deal if a simple button push brought it back to life, sometimes this happens and sometimes it doesnt. I would say 10 – 15% of the time the remote never wakes up. Is there a specific button I am supposed to push, or do I need to get this unit back while it is under warranty? I also found that (two times ago when I was out) that when auto pilot was on, the unit just started spinning (it would get about 720 degrees before I could over ride this and put it back in the stored position to nuetralize what ever it was thinking). Thoughts? Any recommendations would be great. Thanks!

Have you tried replacing the batteries in the remote? I had a similar issue with the remote going out and replacing the batteries fixed it.

I have not seen the spinning issue on my new Terrova but had it happen a couple of times on my previous. It was still under warranty so i took it in and I believe they replaced the compass (can’t remember for certain).

I would just send it in for a warranty repair.
My Terrova has never done anything like that.
In fact while using the spot lock feature last week in high winds I was amazed at how close I stayed to the rock pile I was fishing. PLUS -I watched the motor correct itself when it spun over 360 degrees it would spin back to zero before adjusting again. This iPilot Terrova is way smarter than I am.
Minnkota should fix it and make things right.

When it started to spin was it after you were using it for a while? My power drive goes crazy sometimes when my batteries run low. I would try new batteries in the remote as well, if that doesn’t solve the problem I’d send it in the winter for them to take a look at.
