Masked Hunter – Interesting Bug

    I posted this on FB, so for some this is repetitive, but I found a very interesting bug last night eating a flying ant. It is the nymph stage of a Masked Bandit. He is camouflaged in dirt and that is what I found most interesting. Reminded me of a cadis fly larvae.

    Google is a powerful beast. I was actually surprised I could find any information on it because there is not a lot of information on in sex online.

    I think I’ll leave that auto complete in there for good humor.

    Are you sure that is dirt and not very little young ones that are being carried around on its back? thats what it looks like to me. I could be wrong but that is usually not the case. HEHE J/K Actually my son and I came across a similar thing down by the river, He poked it with a stick and there were literally hundreds of little ones scattering everywhere, it was quite nasty!!!

    Yes, I am sure. When I Google Masked Hunter, I found out that they have hairs that collect dirt and dust as camouflage.
