There was a post with a picture of a bear in a deer stand within the last few days. I tried to search for it and was unable to find it. Anyone remember what the post was or who put it up? Thanks for the help.

If you leave your stand on public land, that’s to be expected.

Yup, I see a bear in a tree stand
But when there’s a bear sitiin’ in it, can it still be properly referred to as a “Deer” stand ?

If you followed your nose to that stand, and you notice an empty bottle of “Human in Rut” next to the bear…you’re in some serious trouble!

You know, the real problem would be when a hunter tried to crawl up in that deer stand before dawn.

I can speak from personal experience here. When you put your hand somewhere and you unexpectedly touch fur, you basically just reflexively sh!# yourself.

Case in point: I reached under my boat cover one day trying to grab a tackle pack that I had left in there. I just undid one of the shock cords, and reached under the canvas.

And my hand hit fur. And the fur moved.

Basically, at this point, it’s “pass the spare pair of tidy whities” time because a sudden reflexive evacuation is inevitable. First I said it, then I did it.

So, after I freshened up a little, I went back out and CAREFULLY peeked under the boat cover.

And there sits our giant 18 pound tomcat. He had turned my boat into his personal three season porch. Took forever to get all the cat hair off the carpet.

You’re lucky if the only thing he left behind that needed to be cleaned from the carpet was Cat FUR
