I saw that last night too. Glad I filled up Tues morning. $3.99 / gal…Youch!
Up on Rainy earlier this week it was $5.25 at one location and $5.00 at another.
Ouch!
Of course, this has to still be Bush’s fault!
Crooks!!!
Wow just think, it was exactly 4 years ago that gas hit $4+ a gallon.
Was told by the gas attendant yesterday to expect 4.09 by the weekend.

It’s funny how much you still here that. Some people won’t take responsibility for anything, unless its good of course.
I just think its funny that North Dakota now produces more oil than Alaska and we are still paying $4 at the pump…blows my mind
Suppy/Demand. Supply is down due to hurricane and switching to the winter blend. All thing being equal…. price should start to drop in a week or so…. just my $.02
There are a couple of things happening. First, the diplomats killed in Libya and Obama sending in the troops just raises the risk factors in the Middle East and the speculators are pumping up the price of crude and gas futures. (Even though US inventories continue to build. We have a nearly 20 year high in crude oil here in the good ‘ol US of A.)
Second, the oil companies are holding back on restarting the rigs in the Gulf. As of Monday, over 30% are still idle. They are doing that, of course, to run the price of oil up.
Third. This is not a competitive marketplace. Take corn for instance. Thousands of producers, hundreds of end users, from farmers feeding livestock to ethanol plants to importers and elevators. If prices get, too, far out of whack one side or the other steps in and buys or sells. In petroleum, only six companies control over 93% from the ground into your gas tank. And they conspire to hold prices firm. They have been closing refineries for the last 25 years to keep gasoline prices higher.
Want cheaper gas? Break up the oil companies like Teddy Roosevelt did. Of course, any politician that would actually say that would be dead politically.
The good news is that every time gas hits the $4 mark, it sends the country into recession and that sends the price back down as we all stop driving!
The Fed is meeting today and if they don’t authorize QE3, I’d expect the price to fall as the funds get blindsided and sell a wide variety of investments.
Just my guess.
Well, at least we will have a new guy to blame after the election.
Gas Dropped 10 cents this morning in St. Michael 3.99 last night and 3.89 this morning.

Don’t bet your pension on that.
More than 50 gas stations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania are jacking up prices to more than $9 a gallon to protest what they say are unfair pricing practices by Lukoil North America.
Sal Risalvato of the New Jersey Gasoline, Convenience, Automotive Association said Wednesday’s protest is aimed at getting Lukoil to respond to dealers’ grievances.
Fox affiliate WNYW reports that a station in South Plainfield, N.J., had signs listing regular gas for $8.99 a gallon and premium listed at $9.49 a gallon for cash and $9.59 for credit.
Risalvato said Lukoil engages in various practices that force franchisees to pay higher prices for their fuel than their competitors.
The New York offices of Lukoil North America said a spokesman was not available for comment.
Lukoil is Russia’s second-largest oil producer. The first Lukoil-branded service stations in the U.S. opened in 2003 and today the company has more than 500 Lukoil-branded stations in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic.
I don’t know what you guys are getting all excited about, I just buy $20 worth anyway.

That’s only a 7% increase. It hurts but not as much as you think.

I love it, I do the same thing.

Thank God I am not the only one…well, when I had a truck.
Unrest in the middle east by a religious nut freak hear in the states caused this. Expect more things to go wacky as the interdependent global market expands.
