I spent a week there that same time of year, some years back. The walleyes were 35′ – 50′ deep. We fished within a rocks throw from shore where we found these depths. Minnow on a plain hook Lindy rig.

I was up last year in late sept. and everyone said that you had to fish deep and that the bite was slow. We hammered fish in 8-12 f.o.w. on a Jig and gulp. Don’t be afraid to try some shallow rocks or try your own thing. It’s a great time of year to be up there.

X2. West side of Harris island pitching jigs to the top of the drop off and jigging them down to around 15 fow worked great. East side of three sisters or shipwreck is good. The Martin islands is also good. All depends on the wind. We fished deep for three days and it was slow but the fish were bigger in deep water. We went shallow and hammered em. Most in the 20″ range. Biggest was 27″. In 30 fow between the Martin islands.
