Have to cut new green treat for the boat benches. I have a 1972 14′ Lund and wonder what thickness of plywood would be best? Anyone else redo their backwater vessel? Maybe some flooring or custom storage etc…?

I think you should research if you should be using green treated would. I believe reading some time ago that the chemicals in the treated would have a reaction to the aluminum of your Lund. Sorry I don’t have more info, but thought it would be worth mentioning.

    X2

I just replaced the bench seating in my old 14″ alumnacraft and I used regular 2X10 board. The biggest problem I had is that the brackets that attached the board to the side of the boat were designed for a 1 inch board and the bracket sandwiched the board, so it sat both on the top and bottom of the board. To fit a 2″ board, i cut a clearance slot with a skill saw in the ends of my boards so that the top bracket would slide into the board. Then I liberally coated the raw wood with some leftover deck sealer.

2×10 you might shave to shave them down to fit your bracket.
