Just wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on taking a vacation to either of these places. Planing on heading too one of these places next spring. Going to be bringing the wife and kid and possibly another couple. I have done alot of research on lake of the woods but it just hit me that this could be a great place to go. I just don’t know of any resorts or if the fishing is comparable to lake of the woods??? Thanks

I’ve fished for whitefish out of Sand Bay Resort, Dale Stroschien owns and guides from there. Nice place to stay. I think all the rooms face the Bay.

LOW doesn’t even compare to Sturgeon Bay, monster eyes, smalmouth and salmon, not much more you could ask for.

Door county has more variety of non fishing things to do. There are many places to stay at door county. Maybe this will help you. http://www.doorcounty.com/
You will have to decide based on exact time you want to take vacation what area will have better fishing.
I think you will have fun at eather place.

different experiences LOW has the feel of “up north” or wilderness…door county more tourest..more things to do for the wife and kids..as for fishing LOW is an experience but for a first timer use a guide for a day if bring your own boat
